advanced

We specialise in preparing teens for high school tennis. Many private schools in Sydney have tennis teams that represent their schools against other independent schools inside boys CIS and GPS systems and girls Tildesley competition.

It is a great honour to make the A’s in each year (for best four) and of course everyone tries to make the senior team A or Bs (best 8 in the whole school). But the standard is incredibly high, with some students on scholarships who go on to become pros. What we do is maximise the hours our students can train, so they get the very best out of each lesson as they enter the private school tennis teams and try work their up the ladder. Most of our students will call us after playing matches for a quick report and we then work on issues that arise from matchplay on Saturday mornings.

Training simulates matchplay with intense defence / attack drills… much more emphasis on tactical and learning how to grind out a win or lose with style.

Most of our students also train during the holidays.

To become advanced they would be able to play all shots, have a strong serve, penetrating topspin forehand and backhand, slice and be able to volley. Tactical becomes a greater feature, with more work on doubles strategy.

It usually takes a least three to four years to reach advanced.
